Character movement and Discord audio freezes

Go to solution Solved by modfolder,

To close this post out, it ended up being an issue with the TP-Link Archer TX20U Plus AX1800, after finding a reddit post suggesting changing XYZ in the driver options I decided to give up and just run an ethernet cable, constant stable pings to google through CMD and all freezes have stopped.

Hi everyone I hope this finds you well, I have recently starting experiencing intermittent freezing on League of Legends specifically where my discord sound will completely cut out and my character in game will freeze as well but in game animations (such as orbs spinning around me) will continue until it unfreezes a couple seconds later.

After a lot of tests I would suspect this is actually a wifi issue but I don't understand why it ONLY happens on League of legends and thought I would seek some advice prior to buying some TP links or routing another ethernet cable through my house.

Troubleshooting steps taken:
Uninstall and reinstall nvidia drivers with DDU (Old and newer versions)
Cinebench for an hour on both single thread and multi-thread
Heaven Benchmark 10+ times with no stuttering
Windows memtest
Ran all of OCCT benchmarks for an hour with no reported errors
Uninstalled and reinstalled league of legends and more specifically vanguard anti-cheat.
Ensured wifi drivers in device manager did not have permission to turn the device off to save power

This all happened after my boyfriend swapped my GPU out for his old (known good) one and in doing so had to replace my PCIE wifi card with a

TP-Link Archer TX20U Plus

System specs

Ryzen 5 7500F

32GB 5200mhz DDR5 Ram

AORUS 3070ti

Corsair RM850 PSU

MSI Pro A620M-E: m-ATX

Thanks for any advice that can be given.

As you can see at 28 seconds discord sounds stop and my character freezes but in game animations/sounds are fine.

Common issue. Its actually caused by discord and it is crashing your internet connection services

Delete extra servers you dont use/need in discord then uninstall discord.

Win + r will open run

Type in appdata (might be %appdata%) and go to roaming and delete discord folder

Reinstall discord

Change discord settings to only download pictures when viewing.

Should fix the issue.

Would being on ethernet make a difference? This doesn't happen on my PC which is connected to ethernet.

It's my boyfriends PC having the issues but I'll give it a go after work, Thanks!

No it can do it on both lan connection or wireless. Lan just has a faster recovery time after a disconnect/connection reset than wireless so it may still be happening and you may not notice it.
