Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Mouse Dongle Literally Fell Apart when I disconnected it from my laptop

Hi! I've been using a G Pro X Superlight 2 since march of 2024, and the experience was amazing, till I started hearing a rattle when shaking the mouse, but that's not why I am posting.

I recently (well not really recently, the incident happened in June 12th) went to disconnect the GPX's dongle from my laptop, and it quite literally split apart in my hands (I'll add a pic), I reached out to logitech and they asked me to show the defect with the ticket number hand-written on a note, I did, and they took more than a week to respond, they said it usually falls under "accidental damage and is not covered by warranty" and they'll ask for a courtesy replacement.

They responded yesterday (June 23rd) and said they can't send me a replacement, and they offered me a 20% discount on their site.

A. I don't want a discount for a company that sells stuff that literally falls apart in a bit more than a year (AND IT WAS EXPENSIVE!, so they can take their 20% discount and shove it you-know-where)

B. really? no warranty for a thing that literally fell apart in someone's hands? (like, I get that I didn't catch it on video and stuff, but if you think about it why would I ask for a replacement if I already used the product for more than a year?)

overall really shitty experience and I am now the proud owner of a Deathadder V3 Pro (luckily I bought it right before the thing happened, for my main setup. I used to daily drive the logitech in my main PC setup but I kinda felt like a deathadder so I bought one, but now I have no laptop mouse 😞 )

may you rest in peace. G Pro X Superlight 😭

If it's Bluetooth all Logitech Mice use the same dongle.

And also, most other brands use the same system and may be compatible.

It's not, as far as I know

@Propagandalf.

Uhm, well, they know how resilient those dongles can be so I suppose they don't believe yours just simply snapped on normal usage.

My experience with Logitech's support has been acceptable. I had an MX Keys keyboard I used for 2 years until several keys broke and the left shift was apparently "electronically stuck" from the circuit itself (ie, reinstalling the software, remapping or cleaning up the key would not fix it).

I contacted Logitech through their international site and they told me to go through the reseller I bought it from. I did just that, they sent the heavily used, broken keyboard to the service, then after a few days they told me they can't fix it and Logitech will give me the money back. After using it for 2 years minus a month 😂

I guess they knew that model of keyboard had issues and mine was still in warranty, so I got all my money back and bought something else, but a new keyboard. 😊

Okay, so I am just gonna pass on every logitech mouse I see. I don't want to buy a 200$ mouse that breaks after less than 2 years.

Been using Logitech G303 Shroud Edition for 2 years and a half, zero issues so far.

Apologies as I missed the fact they would not accept your RMA. I will just chime in and say that after handling dozens, if not hundreds of these Logitech USB receivers over the years at work... I've never had one disintegrate like that on me. It seems much more likely that other factors were at play here, whether that be environmental / mishandling / or accidental. (it's worth noting that the people throughout the workplace are FAR from what I would call "careful" with their electronics.. ohhh the things I've seen)

From personal experience, Logitech is far from being flawless with their equipment - I had a G502 mouse that began doing phantom clicks, even though that was over a period of 3+ years of daily use. Since then, I've purchased 3 other mice, the Logi G Pro, the G703 as well as the Superlight G Pro X Superlight 2 (most recently), and all of them are still working fine. YMMV, as is the case with all things manufactured.

Hope your Razer products are a bit more resiliant for you!

nah, I was sitting at a desk, using my laptop, I used the mouse and everything was alright and then when I took out the dongle to put it inside the mouse it just fell apart like that... so weird, but it had a subtle rattle if you shook it....

If you had to take a guess, how many times would you estimate you had to unplug and plug that dongle back in over the time you've owned it?

definitely over a hundred, but I don't think over a thousand, its a pretty rough guess tho. I would also like to mention that it felt like its going to break from the moment I took it out of the box, it wasn't very sturdy at all

If it felt "off" from the moment it was opened out of the box, you should have opened up a ticket with logitech support (or wherever you purchased it from) and let them know about the issues and determine if it was worth sending in or not, just so you'd have everything in writing/on file.

Just didn't know if it was normal or not, and was waaay to busy to deal with customer support
