I just got most of my pc parts except for the PSU, case, ssd, and windows install drive. Should I start building the pc now or wait until Wednesday when the rest of the parts come? On another note, should I use the stock cooler that came with the r7 5800XT (wraith prism cooler or smth) or should I use the peerless assassin 120 se I already bought and keep the other as a backup?

The Peerless Assassin 120SE will be much better than the stock cooler at both cooling the CPU and noise levels.

Use the PA 120SE and keep the other one as backup, not that the 120SE should fail.

Its just another day or two, wait until you get all the components and then build 🙂

Sure you could put the CPU, RAM and CPU cooler on the motherboard if you want.

There is no right or wrong here, entirely up to you.

I'd say to wait.

It's always better to test your PC outside of the case(on the motherboard box). To make sure it actually works before taking the time to screw everything in the case.

As a side not, be doubly sure you don't have an extra standoff on the motherboard tray of the case as well. You should have as many standoffs as there are screw holes on the motherboard. No more.

The PA will be better than stock cooler for sure.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus / NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 / PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Win 11 Pro

Thanks for the advice. Do you have any tips for the building process? It’s the first build I’ve ever done and I don’t want to waste $1200.

How exciting!  Thats fantastic 🙂

Watch a few build guides, look up how to install the components.

Youtube: How to install Peerless Assassin SE120 etc etc.

Watch a review or unboxing of the case you bought,  familiarize yourself with it before you get it.

Take it easy when you build.  Don't rush it, if you are tired, take a break or wait until the next day to finish the build.

You do not want to make simple mistakes because you want to finish the build.

Put aside more time than you think you will need, the first time you build WILL take a while.

You can also add me on Discord if you want.

You can write me if you get stuck or have questions, I will help you out.

I have helped over 60 people from LTT Forums over Discord while they built their first systems.
