Budget (including currency): 1400 Euro

Country: Bulgaria, EU

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Older AAA (Crysis 3, COD MW 1, 2 and 3 remakes), Stalker full conversion mods, Stalker 2, modded Skyrim SE, Oblivion remaster, remastered Metro games, CS, Resident Evil series (3 and 4 remakes, 7 and 8), DOOM series (2016 - Dark Ages), F1 24 and newer, F1 Manager, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk. No streaming. Audio production with Reaper and VSTs. Light video editing with Filmora.

Currently I'm on an R7 4700U APU laptop. I want to build a desktop PC for gaming, music production, light video editing, and am looking for feedback.

I currently own a basic 1080p 60Hz monitor and peripherals I'm happy with.

The components I'm looking at are the following:

R7 9700x
Thermalight Phantom Spirit 120
Asrock b850m steel legend
ADATA XPG Lancer 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL30
2TB Western Digital Black SN770 SSD
Asrock AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Steel Legend 16GB GDDR6
Seasonic FOCUS GX-850 (2024)
Xigmatek Hero II Air 3F

All in comes out around 1400 euro, all local, tax included, no second hand parts (I don't want to get second hand parts at this point).

My thinking for this platform is thus:

In a few years I'll get a 1440p 144Hz+ monitor (right now I'm honestly fine with maxing out details at 60 FPS);
In 3-5 years a new or second hand higher end GPU;
Another NVME SSD when it becomes needed.

Memory could change depending on prices at the moment I decide to purchace the config, but it'll be 6000MT CL30, and I will consult the QVL.

I know the PSU is overkill for the build at present, but my thinking is that I wouldn't need to upgrade it once I decide to go for a more power hungry GPU. I chose this model based on the SPL tier list.

PS: I made a PCPP list, but Bulgaria isn't on there, the closest country was Romania, but not all parts are available: https://ro.pcpartpicker.com/list/78zrsp

Thank you in advance!

Looks good! But it seems like you should be able to get a 9800X3D+9070/XT for that price point. Do you have a PCpartpicker list?

AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600g w/ Radeon Graphics | 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM | 256GB NVME SSD + 2TB HDD | Amazon Basics 2.0 Speakers

I'll make a PCPP list a little later when I get home.

The 9800x3d would be 200 euro extra, and the 9070xt - another 350.

I was looking at the 9070 xt, but it would be even more of an overkill for 1080p 60 FPS than the 9060 xt, and I don't want to buy a new monitor right now.

Does all your software play nicely with AMD? The 9060 XT should be cheaper than the 5060 Ti 16GB, but if there are weird quirks that make your work harder it wouldn't good.

I've been on an R7 4700u APU for almost 5 years, everything has ran without issue.
