May I ask how it is actually?聽

Not that long ago, JayzTwoCents releasing video about Resize-Bar being disabled by default in Nvidia Inspector, and after enabling it, a few more points in 3D Mark.聽

So I said myself, why wouldn't I do that in my Laptop (Intel Ultra 275hx, 5070Ti). I set everything the same as he has, and surprisingly or not, not even a single point difference, only margin of error.聽

Then I found article about this, because you have to copy and paste everything someone more recognizable will say, and I found there comments, where one of them was saying that, Jayz is not a gamer, only pretend to be one, so he doesn't even know that NVIDIA has most games disabled Re-Bar, because it either don't work, or causing some issues.聽

So how it is actually? Re-Bar really is that ineffective for Intel/NVIDIA combos, and only AMD taking advantages of it, or everything depends on the game itself, if either support Re-Bar or not ?聽

Dunno what you mean by ineffective for Intel, as it is pretty much mandatory if you want Arc to perform well in gaming. I think it is a mix of both the GPU architecture and how games transfer data.

Before rebar, everyone did "small" transfers. When AMD first implemented rebar it added the option to do "big" transfers. Here I think it might be the GPU is set up to work more efficiently when handling certain data sies. Nvidia might work better at somewhat smaller data sizes. Games may have different data transfer patterns that better match some settings or not.

It is interesting though. I wonder, if anyone has done recent testing (current gen GPUs) that sees which GPUs and games benefit or hurt from rebar. Also, are they the same games for all, or do they vary? That might give more insight to what is going on.

Not sure if it's related, but...

I know first hand that FF7 Rebirth hated rebar so much that I had to turn Rebar option in BIOS to disabled to remove all the fps dips. 馃槀馃槣

Sent me to 3 hours of troubleshooting, wondering why the hell I am experiencing a shit ton of hitching after upgrading from 5900x+3080 to 9800x3d + 5080

That video says it's only useful if you have an Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU, AMD CPU systems not being affected.

As many people point out in the comments, the reason it's off globally on the base driver profile is that running all games with ReBAR turned on can cause stability issues and crashing. I distinctly remember one of the Assassin's Creed games running 10% worse with Rebar turned on with AMD/Nvidia GPUs of the time.

However, that doesn't mean that resizable BAR isn't on/working in games if the game's driver profile takes advantage of it, so there is effectively a whitelist section of games that use it.聽

I might have a poke around with the Nvidia Profile Inspector tonight and see what games do and don't, but I'm not expecting any miracles or significant performance changes.
