Hi Everyone,

I recently spent $5K AUD on a new laptop.

When I booted it up I noticed light coming from the bottom bezel of the display.

Is this acceptable? Or should I be seeking some form of recognition of fault, repair or replacement?

I usually have my wallpaper set to solid black due to night time glare & think this will bother me a lot.

I've looked at the warranty & there's legalese about display issues. But I can't help but think this is B.S.

Why is it that TV's & phones don't have regular defects, but Asus laptops do?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Backlightbleed caused by uneven pressure on the display from the bezel most manufacturer dont see it as a defect and well its asus so no clue if they would replace it

I wouldn't say this is acceptable.  This would indeed be very bothersome.

You can try to press lightly on the bezels around that area to see if it loosens up.

Sometimes on monitors the mounting pressure can cause this issue and it gets better over time once the bezels ain't that tight around the display.
