Hi everyone!

I just got the RM1000e Corsair PSU, which comes with a cable that is 12V-2x6 on both sides, and it's supposed to power the Gpu. I can't figure which end of this cable should go into the PSU and which into the Gpu. One end of the cable has "PCIe" written on the side, and that's it. Both ends fit in the psu, I've already tried.

Thanks

I have a Corsair RM1000x and I have the side with the PCIE on the GPU side.
Works great.

The 12V-2x6 should be symmetrical so it shouldn't matter what side you use.

Do you want me to flip my cable around and give it a test?

So you can be sure it works both ways ? 🙂

That would be reassuring, thank you so much!

GPU works great 🙂 Boosting to its rated clock speed and power draw is accurate, no problems at all.

Just a picture to show that I did infact flip it.  I didnt align it pretty, its 1AM so wanted to get this done quick.

Hope that helps 🙂  Just plug it in and off you go. Play some video games!

Thank you! The Gpu still has to arrive, but I wanted to prepare the other pieces so that I only have to plug it in, everything's ready now 😄

I've been playing with my laptop for 8 years, I really wanted to upgrade 🤩

Thats a fantastic build!  I run a very similar setup.

I have a 9800X3D and an RTX 4080 with 32GB of 6000Mhz CL30 RAM as well.

Its absolutely incredible to game with 🙂  You are in for a treat.

The RM1000e is quite overkill for this setup but having some extra room for future upgrades is nice!

You can always install a 10800X3D ( whenever that comes out ) later and buy a beefier GPU in a couple of years and still be good to go for a while.

I just want to say that you could actually get away with a solid 550w PSU for this setup 😄

Yeah, I initially wanted to go with an 850w, but 1000w PSUs were very close in price, so I went with that just to be extra safe 🙃 I was a bit worried about the 12V-2x6 connector, but my 5070 Ti shouldn't exceed 300W, so it should be safe enough (fingers crossed) considering the upper limit of 600W of that connector

What kind of games are you playing on that beast of yours? 🤩
