Muted mic makes hissing sound in recordings

I just recently came over to Win 11 before it dies and that seems to have fixed my audio issues when recording videos or game clips except for one problem, when my mic is muted there is a constant hissing sound and any noise that happens around my headset can still be heard quietly.
