What is the best B850 or AM5 7000 compatible motherboard under 250USD?

I am building my first PC and am still contemplating on the 7800x3d or 9800x3d based on the pricing around prime day or their next available discounts. I want to get a motherboard that would allow me to avoid any issues regarding exploding CPUs and allow me to overclock safely. Ive been told to avoid Asrock for now (was originally gonna get the B850 livemixer) so what is the best motherboard choice for me around 250 or less.

There are many good B650 and B850 motherboards for the CPU listed above.

I personally run a overclocked 9800X3D on a ASUS TUF B650 PLUS WIFI without any issues  

I have had this motherboard since release ( December 2022 ) with my 7700x and 9800X3D, rock solid!

Had a few different RAM kits as well without any issues at EXPO / XMP 6000Mzh CL30.

 

MSI B650 / B850 TOMAHAWK WIFI's are pretty solid!

ASUS TUF B650/B850 are solid.

Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI or the Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX are solid options.

ATX sized (there are no ATX B850 motherboards with weak VRMs [yet]) if you plan on getting powerful CPUs in the future

I'm not surprised, with that specific model it's almost guaranteed to have smooth operation.

Yes, though wouldn't be my first pick, those are slightly more expensive because of the back I/O connectors, though great if you need those specific connectors.

I wouldn't go with ASRock with a 7800X3D or 9800X3D, they have had major problems with CPU's burning.

They said they have fixed the issue with a BIOS update but with so many other solid boards on the market, might as well skip ASRock for X3D CPU's atm.

Remember the ASUS + other boards, incident, where AM5 motherboards juiced way too much voltage, when certain brand boosts and overclocks were enabled?

 

Those burnt CPUs too. And I can't help but notice you rock the exact brand that was among the others that had these issues 2+ years ago, perhaps even the one that was more often having these issues compared to others, if I remember correctly.

Most modern B series motherboards (or X) will do. These days, there isn't really a 'bad' motherboard choice. They all come with basic features. For $250, maybe you could find an X series motherboard?
