Motherboard model: Asus X670 E-E gaming wifi
Pc was running fine till yesterday, turned it on today and got the “System has booted in SAFE mode” prompt, tried restarting the system and it went into auto repair and was stuck in that screen for 15 mins so I turned off the system, download a new bios on a flashdrive and tried a bios flashback. Watched a video on how to do it for my motherboard model and it said that the green led on the flashback switch would stay on for 5-6 mins then turn off which would indicate that the flashback is complete. The led in my case stayed on for around 12 mins so I turned off the psu then booted the system again and tried updating the bios from Asus EZ flash. It was updating fine then the system restarted and nothing came on the display and the motherboard Q-code was displaying 00 so I turned off the power again and tried turning on and the system hasn't posted since. How cooked am I?

Hey!

I was dealing with a similar issue the other day! I helped a friend flash a newer BIOS on a Crosshair VIII Dark Hero over chat lol.

When doing the USB BIOS flashback the light HAS TO BE BLINKING. If it glows solid it's not doing anything (error). Check if your USB is formatted with FAT32, not exFAT.

Yeah the light was glowing solid. I converted the USB to FAT32 using a software and also converted it to MBR from GPT but it still glows solid green, not blinking. Anything else I can try?

Try a different usb stick. My MSI b550 is really picky with flash drives. The only ones that work are smaller, older drives. I keep a 8gb drive around just for that now.

Yes indeed.BIOS flashback button needs to stop blinking once flashing is done.

If you can get a flash drive with flashing light while it is in use, it would help you a lot.

Asus flashback indeed is very picky with flash drives.

If you interrupted the process while flashing that is bad news.

This is why anyone who flashes BIOS, get one flash drive with flashing light, when you start and end flashing process you will know by that flashing light on pen drive.

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

Tried the flashback with a 32 gb drive and this time the led was blinking, after it stopped blinking turned off the psu power then booted up the system again, still nothing no post.
