Hey,

id like to do a new Build this year (next month if i can get the parts) and hope u can guide me.

If there is a post with this cpu and gpu without all other parts in highend (that is not needed) link it, please. ive looked at a few but dont know if the parts are necessary or just pushing the limits

i think i can figure out the cooling part myself but optinions are fine

If u say, the gpu or cpu is garbage im open for change

there are 2 4k monitor in my setup and sometimes my tv. so there are 3 in use + 1 vr headset

i thought about:

AMD Ryzon 9 9950X3D

ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090, ROG-ASTRAL-RTX5090-32G-GAMING

64GB GSkill Trident Z5 NEO RGB Schwarz DDR5 6000 (2x 32GB) AMD EXPO

1200W be quiet! Straight Power 12

? 4TB Samsung 990 Pro M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD or 4TB Samsung 9100 PRO PCIe® 5.0 NVMe if u think its worth

? Motherboard - i dont need wlan

? Cooling - old setup is with an aio, but much ppl dont like them ?

Pci 4 Port Usb 3.0 Extension from my old setup

there is not much stuff in my List..

Id like to have an opinion for a highend pc without going complete over the top

i dont think i need an 500€+ Motherboard, but id like a solid build that can take advantage of all parts, that will last me some years

thanks for your help and opinions

if you say "its not worth it, wait until X" i do. it just feels good to start building on vacation and  it feels like something is dying in my old setup

There are numerous Lian Li O11 models so you will have to verify AIO fit based on your actual model.

right after

ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090, ROG-ASTRAL-RTX5090-32G-GAMING

At this point, asking if things are worth it is beyond silly.  Get the 4TB Pro drive, a Godlike mobo, and definitely a 360mm AIO to keep things cool.

Thank you for your opinion,

i choose ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090, ROG-ASTRAL-RTX5090-32G-GAMING bcs i heard the software for powermanagement and security was the best.

i have not much time to get into building that much thats why i ask here

I dont like the "get godlike mb opinion" but thanks for your help

The MSI Godlike motherboard.  Not just a godlike motherboard comment.

Do you want a realistic build with high perf parts or just the best of the best to spend as much as possible?  Power management software isn't a reason to buy the Astral 5090 for $4000 ridiculous dollars.

Also, if you rather do not want my viewpoint on this build, just say so.  No problem.

i will take a look at it nxt day, do u have some things u think i need to add because they are nice to have ? I dont need rgb etc

@dedayog id like a realistic build. your 1200€+ board was just trolling thats why im complete fine with brobs help, thanks anyway

Don't hate ya.  Just rather see a sensible purchase, rather than "$5k maybe more" and some really abject reasoning behind things.

if you WANT to spend that much cuz you're rich or just used to blowing money, want to epeen it up... own that.  Don't make things up like "power management software".  Makes no sense.

You have a shit load of people here trying to limp into a decent budget machine with inflation, Nvidia/AMD greed (which the 5090 drips with), and tariff bullshit.

It just smacked of "look at me", I gotz money.  I reacted poorly to that, and I do apologize.

ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090, ROG-ASTRAL-RTX5090-32G-GAMING

I wouldn't go with this graphics card. The cooler is great but in my opinion you're paying a lot for the brand, and it's not even that quiet as seen in this Der8auer video. I would consider other cheaper options like Zotac, MSI, Palit, PNY, Gigabyte or even ASUS TUF if you would like to go with ASUS. In my opinion it's not worth spending up to 700€ more for a graphics card which will be up to a couple of percent better. The astral is for when you have "fuck you" money, not when you're trying to save.

2000 series was bad memory

3000 was bad VRM cooling on some cards

4000 & 5000 have the melty cables, at least on the founders edition cards. I'm not sure if board partners fixed NVIDIA's issue or not (I'm not in the right tax bracket), I know that ASUS has at least for the very expensive ASTRAL card some kind of monitoring.

Here are a couple of videos about the melty cables if you're interested:

Arctic Liquid Freezer III AIO have thicker radiators than other AIO. The fact that other AIO fit does not mean that a Liquid Freezer radiator will clear the motherboard. These AIO are available in non RGB versions. I only included the A-RGB model since the memory included lighting.

@brob

Build is finished and works with the motherboard you mentioned and the TUF version of the GPU.

I had some problems because it didn't work with the CPU without a firmware update and my USB stick didn't do the update. Unfortunately it doesn't have an SPDIF output, but that was my mistake. Now everything works and I'm setting it up.

Thank you again for your suggestion

have a nice weekend
