Is buying a 2nd hand 3080 or 4070 worth to upgrade from RX6800?
I like how 3080 performs in benchmakrs but i've noticed its VRAM is only 10GB and im worried that despite finding a good deal its not as future proof as RX6800.

Meanwhile the 2nd hand 4070 is like $100 more than 3080 but has 2GB extra VRAM.

Or should I just stay with RX6800 till next gen? I play at 1440P.

3080 nah, but 4070 is the absolute best when it comes to price to performance. I have the super edition, and it works like a charm on 1440p high and even 4k low settings(with dlss balanced and frame gen ofc.)

absolutely not worth it, both are downgrades. the 4070 perf like 15% more but you have less vram and at 1440p you dont want less than 16 so a downgrade. a 3080 is 20% more perf, but an even bigger vram downgrade. a lot of games at 1440p already alocate above 12gb at the max settings and some even use that much. so both definitely dont recommend as you may even see less perf due to vram cost than your 6800. if you want an upgrade get the rx9070. if thats too expensive for you get the 7900xt second hand. but dont go to a card with less vram.

If you OC your RX 6800 then you are likely to match the performance of the stock RTX 3080 while keeping the extra VRAM. It's not really worthwhile upgrade to change your card for these unless you absolutely need some of the featues of the NVIDIA cards for some reason.
