I just installed my 5080 and reinstalled windows a few days ago.

-In MSI Afterburner, the TEMP LIMIT slider is greyed out.

-And, in GPU-Z, under Advanced>NVIDIA BIOS, there is no "Temperature Limit" section

-Nvidia app, under System>Performance>Performance Limits, doesnt show a temp limit either.

Anyone have any idea why this may be the case? Thanks 馃檪

I have the drivers for chipset from mobo, latest gpu (576.80), etc.

Components:

7800x3d

5080

gigabyte aorus elite ax rev 1.2 with latest bios

Are you using聽MSI Afterburner 4.6.6 Beta 5?

This adds support for RTX 5000 cards.

Nvidia also removed the HotSpot sensor from RTX 5000 GPU's.

Yes, I'm using 4.6.6 beta 5.

I actually think this may just be a 5080 thing... I previously thought that I remembered other people having the temp limit option, but I checked again and in OC videos like jayztwocents'聽

(f.e. at 16:59) it actually looks like it's greyed out there too... I guess I misremembered!

Thanks anyway聽馃槃

That unfortunate.聽 Just checked, the slider is there on my RTX 4080 and works.

I will check again with a 5070/ti tomorrow and give you an update.

Well, looks like it wont affect me too much tho... because the best my card seems to be able to do is +300 core clock (with +100 core voltage 125% power +2000 memory clock) because if it ever goes over roughly 3225 MHz it crashes :((((

such a shame, given that it peaks at like 66 degrees in time spy extreme and doesnt get close to the 450W power limit ...

thinking about getting a new one atp, i have the impression the silicone lottery cant get worse than this on a 5080, apparently possible OC mostly ranges from +300 to +450 馃槃

From what I have seen with the 5080's is that you gotta reduce your overclock on the memory if you want higher core clock.

Almost all 350-370Mhz on the core I have seen has had +500/1200 on the memory and not 2000.

You most likely won't see your 5080 get near 450w as its a 350w card at stock, overclocking is not going to add another 100w to the power draw.

Its up to you if you want to return it or not, I personally would not.聽 There is diminishing returns and being able to add another 50-100Mhz will probably only give you about 1-2 FPS extra, if that.
