After spending a grand on a new AM5 system, I want to make sure I install the cpu cooler correctly so I don't cook my cpu.

So the BeQuiet came with two fans. One on the side of the tower then one sandwiched in the middle.

I was once told if you have two fans next to each other, the second one needs to be facing the other way.

So that is what I have done and I have a exhaust fan at the back which lines up with where the cooler is.

Excuse the lack of cable management. I will zip tie the cables down later on.

Who told you that? Never speak to that person again.

Both fans "face": the same way.  The should pull cooler air from the front of the case, push it thru the radiators of the cooler, and then out the back toward the exhaust fan you hopefully have there.

I think we can be charitable and assume there was a serious miscommunication. If you had fans facing opposite directions they'd just largely not move air.

Dedayog has the correct answer and those BQ fans conveniently have air flow arrows to make it easy

I will say, that cooler will keep it nice and chilled in general, but all those 5.25"/3.5" cages at the front are seriously gonna hamper airflow
It looks like the roof is is solid. Even if you have fans in the front and that front is full mesh, I'm not certain it's going to be enough airflow, depending on the GPU. If you are struggling with temps, try pulling the side panel and if you see a significant drop in temps, you should think about a case upgrade in the future. The Phanteks g400A and corsair 4000D Airflow are both great, inexpensive options (or go full wildcat and run an open air rig :P)
Best of luck!

Nah they should not fight each other, but all push towards your exhaust -usually the back (but not for me, it's front, well who cares)
And your old style case isn't good at all for airflow, the GPU will certainly cook...

My pc currently has a ryzen 7700x and 9060xt gfx card.

The top isn't solid. There is mounting points for two fans.  Shall I move the fan at the front to the top then have pull fresh air in?

There is also another fan mounting point built into the side panel.  Shall I add a fan there

I have the following in my case...

Front - 3x 140mm intake

Top - 3x120mm (AIO) exhaust

Rear - 1x140mm exhaust

Side - 2x120mm intake to blow directly to the 7900XTX

Is it overkill or useless in a mesh case?  No idea, but I "try" to have air flow in thru the front and side to exhaust thru top and back.  Always try to visualize the airflow and make it make sense, try not to force it.

So for you, I'd not intake from the top.  In from front, out thru back.  Think hair dryer, get good flow and get that hot air out.  Maybe move those drive sleds, I think that case can?
