I bought an replacement motherboard (Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 Motherboard - Supports AMD Ryzen 5000 Series AM4 CPUs, 12+2 Phases Digital Twin Power Design, up to 4733MHz DDR4 (OC), 2xPCIe 3.0 M.2, WiFi 6E, 2.5GbE LAN, USB 3.2 Gen1)

The front panel cables for my case are a USB 3.0 and don't fit the motherboard. Is there an adapter I could use to get them working again? Rather not buy a new case!

Is there a reason you can't use the dedicated port?

From the cases manual, its a standard connector. Its keyed so it will only go in one way. That's the correct port circled above. 

 

Check for any debris in there among the pins, if one is bent it'll cause a problem.

Check the pins, they are very easy to bend.

Make sure the orientation is correct

 

It can be quite snug to plug / unplug.

 

Also yeah.

Check the header if there's any bent pins

Check the connector if there's a stuck pins in one or more of the holes.

I LOVE front panel 3.0 ports
I LOATHE front panel 3.0 connectors
They are SO tight I have several times ripped the entire housing off the board.
