Hey everyone, I need a bit of help. I have a PC with an RTX 3050, Ryzen 5 4600G, and 16GB of RAM, but when I play Valorant, I’m only getting around 150 FPS. A friend of mine has the same GPU (RTX 3050) and is getting close to 300 FPS, so I’m wondering what could be causing the difference. I’ve checked my drivers and temps, and everything seems normal. Is it possible the CPU is bottlenecking, or could it be a setting I’m missing? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If you want to check if the CPU is bottlenecking you must check in-game GPU utilisation.

Looking around on YouTube for videos showing the performance of the Ryzen 5 4600G and Ryzen 5 4500 (which is the same CPU, just with the integrated graphics disabled) it looks like those CPUs are only capable of about 200fps on average in Valorant, with some sections of the game showing around 150fps.

 

Based on this, I would say that your CPU is likely the limiting factor. It could also be that your RAM is running slower than is shown in these videos. Did you make sure that XMP/DOCP was enabled to get the RAM running at its rated speed? What does Task Manager show as your RAM's speed in the Performance > Memory tab?

 

Also, it shows that you have at least 2 slots used on that tab, right? You're not just running one stick?

 

You could also consider enabling PBO to remove the power limits on your CPU - that could potentially help it to boost more consistently.

 

Here are a couple examples. Note that in the one actually using the 4600G, for 720p and lower resolutions, the GPU utilization for the integrated graphics is well below 90% at all times, which means that the integrated graphics are not the limiting factor - the CPU itself is.
