Hey everyone this my first time on here have been watching ltt for years now but I need help with my pc. I have a cyberpower pc that I got second hand for a great deal. The pc has a core i5 10400f and a gigabyte b460m ds3h ac-y1 in it. I wanted to update the bios so I could install windows 11. So I went to gigabyte website download the bios on to my thumb drive booted in to bios and and launched qflash it read the file everything went good and the hit enter to start the update and it said incorrect bios image or I would get a incorrect bios id. I have looked high and low to find the cyberpower bios since the gigabyte didn’t work with no luck. I did find a ibuypower bios for my motherboard but yet same thing incorrect id/image. It seems like cyberpower has a lock down on the motherboard and I know I can try Rufus but I wanted to do it the right way since one of the bios version helps with stability with the RTX 3060 that I am running. I have thought about just upgrading to a msi or other motherboards just so I don’t run in to this again but I like to just know how to work with what I got for now since money is a little tight with me changing jobs. I do know the cut off for windows 10 is still months away by then I will have a new gaming build but I would like to gift this system to my grandmother or my father and would just like it to work with out a issue. I look forward to everyone input and thank you in advance.

Have you tried reaching out to Cyberpower's support to ask if an updated BIOS is available?

Cyberpower will most likely direct you to Gigabyte.

They just put stuff together and sell completed machines. Doubt they lock-down or modify the motherboard. They just use off-the-shelf parts.

Gigabyte shows many boards with the B460M nomenclature. b460m is the chipset.

You need to find more info about the specific board you have.

Cyberpower does sometimes ship systems with OEM motherboards. Gigabyte made the board, but then Cyberpower is responsible for the support - including BIOS updates.

well I took a peek and found this;

https://www.cyberpowerinc.com/drivers/?dir=Motherboards/BIOS/Gigabyte

so they do have BIOS updates, my bad.

BUT those are all about 3 years old, so I'm not sure how reliable Cyberpower's updates are.

based on what you said, this is the BIOS for your system from Cyberpower's site;

B460M DS3H AC rev 1.x.zip

Would make sense for a b460 board to only have updates till about 3 years ago.
