Issues with gigabyte b850 motherboard GPU light

So I built the system up but the VGA diagnostic led is coming on. The GPU is brand new and so is the motherboard. I try my old GPU which I have verified works  on my 1500x system. But again VGA diagnostic led.

 

I try the new GPU in my old system which unfortunately doesn't have diagnostic LEDs but I don't get any output. Try my old GPU it works like a champ.

 

Am not sure if the 7700 has onboard graphics but that doesn't give me any output and the VGA diagnostic led is still on

 

So I have a dead move and GPU? wtf. I must enter the lottery this weekend.

you can try RMAing your gpu and motherboard. its bad luck if they are both dead on arrival

It does. The 7700 should give a picture if you plug a display cable into the motherboard, though for testing purposes that would be best without a potentially faulty graphics card in the primary slot.

What is the old system motherboard? Some of these newer cards don't work very well in old(er) PCs.

It's a Asus Prime B350-PLUS. 

I think the mobo is definitely doa.

I return it to the online retailer see what they say.
