Main monitor turns black for 1 second shortly after windows login.

Sometimes, about 30 seconds after logging into my PC, my main monitor (but not the second) briefly goes black, then comes back.

I recently got a new GPU, did DDU and installed 566.36 drivers as Nvidia's latest are generally broken.

The GPU seems to work fine most of the time, accept these occasional brief blank screens after login and sometimes stutters windows, though that might just be windows.

Is this a potential hardware issue? If so, will it get worse over time?

if you swap to the second monitor as the main will it still go black for a second on the original monitor/

This has happened to be for a long while, though I really only saw it once I moved to HDR full time. Usually only a second or two on logging in after a fresh boot. The same sort of brief black screen you get if you arrange and apply your monitors positions or select a new color calibration. I just assumed it was some sort of initialization after a fresh boot, possibly due to my use of HDR and a custom color profile. 

 

Never really bothered me, everything works as expected.
