Tp Link ER605 DHCP repopulation after reboot is very slow

After reserving some static ips for devices on my network, i power cycled my ER605 to clear old DHCP leases for addresses that were no longer in use. That was successful and the router has come back on line normally, but it is taking forever to repopulate the DHCP client list. The only devices on my network have reserved static IPs by the router and are fully functional and accessible despite sometimes not being shown in the DHCP client list, is this normal or is it a problem?

This is normal, as DHCP has a lease time (how long before the client asks to renew its IP address allocation) which is usually at least an hour but some routers might even set it to 24 hours.

 

The quickest way to deal with it is to reboot the devices, especially if you have changed the IP address they have reserved.
