Info:

  • It is an Asus Tuf A16 Advantage Edition
  • I bought this laptop open box from Best Buy.
  • About a month ago 1 screw fell out, but I quickly found it and put it back in (using a screwdriver).
  • Now 3 of the screws (all in the back) have fallen out an I have been unable to find them. These missing screws make it really hard to open and close it without part of the back shell falling off.

Anyone have ideas of what I should do to fix this?

Buy screws of the same size as the one left...Supposing you still have threads as @strange13930 mentioned

Buy appopriate screws to replace the missing ones.

Buy a blue threadlocker

Put a bit of the threadlocker on the screw, then screw it in.

Consider unscrewing other screws then putting threadlocker on them.

Although there is also a chance that the screw thread/spot inside already cracked or broke so nothing really holds the screw in place.

Not even threadlocker can help with that. It'd need either proper repair on the screwing point, and/or glue.

There is approximately 99% chance I edited my post
