Hi guys.

On my Samsung CJG32" which was purchased few years back, I have noticed that standby LED does not blink anymore.

When I plug out the power adapter and plug back to the outlet it should turn on the monitor which searches for output signal but that does not anymore.

3 PCs are connected to it.

On the one from displayport when I power up the PC monitor starts too.

But on PC which is connected to its HDMI it does not do it.

I would need to power up the PC with displayport output then shut it off in order to get the monitor for mode to search for signal then and only then power up the PC which is connected over HDMI.

Does this mean that monitor is slowly going to the end of his life, and me to plan soon buying new monitor?

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

Probably not? I wouldn't be worried about a (non)blinking light. You can check to see if there is a firmware updater and try using that. Otherwise, just be watchful for bad scanlines etc. that indicate an actual problem with the panel/digitizer and maybe start saving for a replacement.

I agree with OddOod. This doesn't necessarily mean that your monitor is dying, but the auto-scan on one of the ports seems to have given up.
If you have the money, desperately want a new monitor and needs a great reason for your respective other, parents or someone else to buy a new monitor, point at these errors and get a new one, but as long as it works and show the image correctly, you're good.

Yeah, as long as it works, I am not planing to replace it.

But for sure Samsung won't be my next monitor , I will go with AOC.

It is really weird that over displayport monitor shows picture automatically when I power on PC connected to that port  which is not the case with HDMI.

  • 2 weeks later...

This monitor has 2 HDMI ports.

Last night I powered the laptop on which HDMI port was connected to a monitor.

Monitor did not want to turn on, and there was no picture.

On second HDMI was a one PC.

So I turned on PC and indeed it did power on the monitor.

So I don't understand, there are 2 HDMI ports, on one it does auto turn on monitor but on second it does not.

Over DP it does turn on the monitor when I turn on PC.

I am confused.

Each time then I need to "fool down" the monitor (turn on the PC and then turn it off just to get monitor into the mode to search for signal).

I also have an issue, but this last quite a while and that is that I can not power on monitor via its button(probably the button is bad).
