either specific people about personal projects they've shared on the channel, or just ask general questions about say infrastructure updates or tech questions that may or may not have been answered, but it saves scrolling through years of content looking. for example, what happened with OG petabyte project. obviously no garuntee any questions get answered and any overly personal or uncomfortable questions can be ignored/shadow banned, etc. but it would be nice to be able to ask random questions that aren't big enough for a video suggestion or merch message.

The Storinators for the Petabyte project have been decommissioned, recommissioned and upgraded and probably re-decommissioned by now. On a studio tour Linus showed their Storinator graveyard and explicitly told that all Storinators and other servers ever appearing on camera are now in that pile. One of the super fast NVMe servers was reused in part 2 of the NetApp Rack video series as head-end machine for a HA setup replacing the NetApp servers they couldn't use.

Merch messages but free? Basically any thread posted is one where you could get reply from staff. And they do reply times to time. I would recommend asking questions as threads. Most of the time questions has been answered in LMG content already and someone will remember the answer.聽
