In old Nokia 2760 and Samsung GT-S5230G Avila phones, applications are in .jar formats and these browsers use WAP and many websites do not want to open in browsers using WAP. In 2017, on Nokia 2760 and Samsung GT-S5230G Avila phones, it was possible to log in to my account with a Facebook application in .jar format, but for several years it has not been possible. It is the same with the WAP browser WinWAP https://www.winwap.com for computers. I would still like to use these old phones for the internet. Why is it that if something works like these phones, it is worth throwing away because it is a different technology? WAP is better at saving internet transfer when I buy a small amount of GB, WAP technology uses less transfer than regular internet. Is it true that phones using 3G and 4G will become useless because operators will only broadcast the signal in the 5G frequency and that even a regular phone call or text message will require a phone with 5G support? In how many years will phone SIM card operators offer internet without a GB transfer limit for pennies? What does it matter that 5G is faster than 3G or 4G if someone buys 5 GB or 10 GB of transfer and watches a few videos on YouTube and the transfer will run out. Why does local cable internet have no transfer limit but SIM card internet has transfer limits? Why do Facebook or Dlive or https://vk.com not always work well even on new Androids from a regular web browser and require a separate application for a specific site, while on computers everything can displayed from a regular web browser as long as this browser is relatively new or the latest version?

Capitalism relies on buying new things and planned obsolescence is an excellent way of making people spend their money.

In the case of the US, 2G and 3G has largely been decommissioned. In order for them to upgrade to "better" tech they have to shut down the old tech. So to answer your question yes, eventually they likely will shut down the older cellular network to upgrade to the new one.

If you're talking about usage limit, in fact Comcast one of the largest cable companies in the US has a 1.2 TB data cap on most of its network. Why? Because they can. BUT that being said cellular networks have limited resources so they tend to limit the data usage to ensure everyone has a fair amount of usage of the network. I know in some cases for cellular home internet the providers will allow unlimited data but use deprioritization or will slow down your connection after X amount of data has been used.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Back in the day when mobile phones didn't support HTML5 (or actually nothing supported it and most websites used tech that was too heavy for mobile phone processors, Shockwave, Java, Flash etc.), we used to have extra mobile version with WAP prefix for sites. Currently since mobile browser already support HTML5, there's no need to keep up extra version of any site. Alternative method is to set mobile browser not to load images etc. to conserve data.
