Why haven't neckbands became more popular?

I use to really like Bluetooth neckbands, then Bluetooth earbuds came around flooded the market and I haven't really seen that much improvement on neckbands. You would think with neckbands overall design companies could pack in more features and function VS one little earbud that drops out of the ear and becomes gone forever. Sure the charging case aspect of wireless earbuds is appealing but like I mentioned you loose one and completely out of luck. I've always preferred neckbands just over that issue. One pops out and they just dangle across your neck generally or they're easier to find. I see soundcore makes some that are decent with app control. Don't know just wish the market was less flood able with cheapo earbuds.

Yeah. Like the LG Tones? I had that one back in the day. It worked well. The only thing I dont like is it seems like all in ear buds cause irritation in my ears. My niece has some AirPods and I was going to see next time when I see her if I can try them out. Just see if they irritate my ears. Other wise I prefer over the ear headphones.
