Hello, I am planning to build a desktop computer, I bought 2 motherboards for 50 cents (for the 2) they came just the bare motherboard, no bag, I am not sure if they work, but for the time that I find the parts how can I store them so I do not damage them further?

Find some cardboard and put them on it, away from danger like yourself, kids and animals.

Can also put some cardboard over them to prevent a bit of dust buildup, depending on how long it will take for you to find parts.

Ideally, they would be stored each in an anti-static bag in a rigid box, like how they would come from the factory.

If not that, you can set them on a shelf somewhere out of the way. The biggest concern then is just dust or it getting knocked to the ground.

The biggest concern, assuming these are LGA boards with the little pins in the socket, is damaging those pins. They are quite delicate. Do not touch them when handling the boards.

By danger like yourself I mean you could trip and fall on it, spill a beverage or drop something on it.

You didn't do anything wrong 😄

Put it up high on a shelf and leave it.

Hehe 🙂 No Problem,  cardboard works well!

We used to build our PC's on the cardboard box the motherboard came in to test it before putting it in the case.
