I have an Intel i9-14900K and a 4060 Evo 8GB GPU (with latest drivers) on an Aorus Z790 Elite AX Motherboard (with the latest BIOS and Drivers) a Cooler Master 850W 80+ Gold PSU and Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000Mhz CL36-44-44-96 32GB (2x16) and I’ve been experiencing game crashes I had another thread up which helped me figure out that RAM was causing my instability (thanks emosun) I played with both sticks installed one at a time and both are good and work fine I’m just not certain how to fix the instability issue or if I can at all any help would be greatly appreciated

So to confirm, if you have either of the two stick installed, all is good... but if both are installed it crashes alot?

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticably improve performance past 240mm.

Yes with 1 module it’s fine regardless of which module but with both it crashes within an hour of gaming

Did you check if your motherboard is running on the latest BIOS ? Recent updates often offer improvements to DDR5 stability issues. Did you try with and without XMP profiles ?

I cannot go without asking what is the use case of your computer ? You got some top-end CPU coupled with a really low-end GPU. If it is not a gaming computer, you can probably gain some stability by reducing memory speed and/or timings.

Good luck !

The motherboard is running the latest BIOS and I’ve run it with and without XMP it is a gaming PC I thought a 4060 would be better than my old 3060 I’m pretty new to building PCs as this is my first build I’ve been told it’s specs are odd for a gaming rig lol

The 4060 was criticized as being no better than the 3060 in most cases. Sorry to be the one to bring the news.

Another thing you can check is if the Memory modules are listed in the motherboard's QVL memory list.

Is the ram sticks still returnable for exchange or refund ? I'd try another brand if possible because the ones you have do not play nice with your computer at the moment.

Good luck !
