What would you pick?

Prices in my country:
- Lenovo Thinkpad cca. 1200 € ( $1.390,97 )
- Macbook Air M4 (Base Model) cca. 1400 € ( $1622,79 )

I love the amount of RAM I get with Thinkpad but my concern is the battery life and general lifespan of laptop.

Any help is appreciated.

What is the use case of this laptop?

Also RAM is a lot more optimised on MacOS as to Windows, so you dont need as much. Of course, 16GB of Windows would still clap like 4 on Mac, but you get the idea

Edit: ok maybe i wasnt totally right ignore me lol

The Thinkpad would be more upgradable in the future if needed (RAM, SSD, etc). Macbook has a far nicer display.

Really depends on what you want to do with it. If you're fine with iOs, I'd go with the Macbook personally.

To be honest any of these 2 laptops are overpowered for what I need them. I usually do everything on remote machines (mostly research and ML stuff). Basically my workflow is terminal + web browser. It happens from time to time that I need to compile something locally in which case a better machine comes in handy.

"Base model" with 256GB soldered SSD? It's great for Internet browsing. As soon as the SSD dies, the MacBook turns into a pumpkin.
ThinkPad
