Why do you want to get a 7900XTX?

Unless you need 24GB of VRAM for some reason, you'd be better off getting either an RX 9070 XT for around $800 or RTX 5070 Ti for around $900. For gaming, both of those cards will offer a better overall experience, and they're cheaper.

None of them.  7900XTX only makes sense if it's under 9070XT by a good bit.

See if your store has the $729 9070XT, nm it's only the Santa Clara store.  The $799 one is decent too.

As others have said, unless you specifically need 24GB VRAM for a specific task - then go with a 9070 XT. It's about the same (a tiny bit less) performance, but with better features, more longevity and it's cheaper.

With that said, if you have to buy one of the three cards, I'd opt for one of the $999 models. I see no reason to overpay an additional 10%, when the alternatives are already good models. I'd recommend reading some customer-specific reviews and besides that going by what fits your build and vibes.

100% bullshit.

When you need more than 16gb, you'll be building a new machine anyway.

We are arguing 8gb gpus now.  We have a ways to go til 16.

You're far more likely to be limited in terms of longevity due to Radeon 7000's poor raytracing performance, as games nowadays are making raytracing mandatory, than you are to be limited by 16GB. Even with that aside, you're also more likely to hit the performance barrier than the VRAM barrier first.

I only play msfs 2024. With study level aircraft and 3rd party airports, I was frequently exceeding 16 gb of vram with my 4080 super. That would result in massive fps drops down to single digits. Complete trash. I got a 7900 xtx and the performance in the sim has improved significantly. I have seen vram usage up to 23 gb. My son plays several non sim games and the 4080 super was great for him. I still have the 4080s. May build another pc with it.
