Hello. I've been dealing with a stuttering issue in almost every game I play, and I’ve been trying to solve it for nearly a year now. My system includes a High Power 750W 80+ Gold PSU, and the rest of the specs are listed below.

image.thumb.png.0616adb4e6860561c9049ed4962bce68.png

I’ve tried almost everything suggested online — updating and rolling back GPU drivers (with and without Adrenalin software), updating the BIOS and chipset drivers, overclocking and underclocking the GPU, replacing PSU cables, changing monitor settings, adjusting mouse polling rates, tweaking nearly every BIOS setting one by one with reboots, capping FPS using RivaTuner… the list goes on. But nothing has worked.

The issue is most noticeable in the 0.1% lows — they drop drastically, even in older games. For example, in a game running at 144 FPS, I’ll suddenly get drops down to 1, 5, or 10 FPS. I’m currently playing Code Vein and recorded data with HWiNFO. I know some might say that particular game isn’t well optimized, but I experience the same stuttering in almost every title I try — God of War, Far Cry 6, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Jurassic World Evolution, Genshin Impact, GTA V, Hogwarts Legacy, Palworld, Lost Ark, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, and more.

No matter the game, the frametime graph shows consistent stutters, especially in certain in-game scenarios.

At this point, I’m exhausted. I just want a smooth gaming experience, but this problem is pushing me to the point of giving up on PC gaming entirely and switching to a console.

I’d really appreciate any help or insights you could offer. Thanks in advance.

okay, it isn’t vRam or temps.

have you tried a clean GPU driver install using DDU?

have you tried a clean install of windows (not the same as a reset)?

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticably improve performance past 240mm.

Yes. I tried different driver versions with using DDU in safe mode. Also installed both Win10 and Win11 from scratch. None of them helped.

Okay, when did the issues start? When you built the machine? During a recent upgrade? Or just randomly?

Well I had a gxt980ti a year ago, then I only changed my gpu to 6600xt. The problem was existing even before I changed my gpu but I didn't have knowledge to check the graphs with rivatuner or something. I recognized that after I changed the gpu.

hmmm, well that suggests the GPU is fine if the issue has persisted over multiple GPUs.

Okay, taking another look at your HWinfo upload I've noticed that your CPU clock speed seems pinned to 4000mhz like there is some dodgy overclock running. Therefore, I think reseting the Bios would be a good next step. To do this, remove the cmos battery (It is a watch battery located below and to the left of your CPU, and just above you GPU), wait 10 seconds, and then reinstall it.

Once that is done, boot up your PC and see if anything has changed.

Sorry for my late reply. I just done as you said but drops still continue. I also installed different games and tried but still the same issue.
