fans turning, leds lighting ?

Hello, I’m new to forums and just wanted some help, I was helping a friend upgrade their mobo,(asus(idk Best Buy prebuilt)) ram(12gb) and stock cooler. To some parts that I had lying around. The “new mobo” had a RYZEN 7 2700x and was A tuf gaming 470x plus with 16 gbs ddr4.( the pc did work days before) I used her more current CPU which was RYZEN 5 4600g.. after transplanting the parts and making sure all connections were working. Upon plugging to a monitor, black screen no bios or nothing. Reseated GPU and Ram. Even went back to the RYZEN 7 from the old build and still no post. Please help…

Hi John and welcome to the forums. The 4600G is first supported by the motherboard after bios version 5861. So update to that version. After you can update to a newer version if you want.

Well, the motherboard should still work with the previous cpu. With it you should be able to enter the bios and update it.

If this doesn't work, then I believe your problem to be something else or at least two things.

Maybe send us a good picture of that board ?

But why change the board if the other works ?

Also oem desktop tend to have propietary psu, did find all necessary connectors ?
