Right now I use an m1 MacBook to do work and some light gaming and I play most of my games on a ps5, I want to build a pc so I can run/train ai and also play games at higher than 120hz (I have a 180hz monitor). The only problem is that I don't have any desk space at all to fit a pc, and from what I have heard, It is not great to keep a pc on a floor, If I have to sacrifice looks thats ok, I guess I just want an actual gpu that I can upgrade in the future. Is there any way I can have a pc like on the side of my desk that won't kill it, I don't have a carpet floor but my room gets dusty a lot with the way air flows through our house.

Mine is on the floor.  Just clean it more often.

Unless your house is a shithole, you're fine.

Edit:  Change your furnace filters more often maybe.  Cuz what ends up in your PC can end up in your lungs as well 😛

Whats your budget?

You can definitely make a good looking PC in a small case 🙂

Just clean it more often, get a case with dust filters.  No problemo.

My desk doesn't have space for a PC neither, so it's on the floor

I've added extra feets to have it a bit higher up, and some dust filters top and rear, as I also have 3 hairy cats !

And it's fine 🙂

Every system I built has always been on the floor, well 5-10cm above the floor to be exact.

I live in a dusty country, and I don't vacuum my room often.

My PCs been fine, dust is not too bad if there's a dust filter.

My current pc case doesn't have dust filter, though the airholes is tiny, not as tiny as dust filter's holes though. So far (around +- 1 month) it's been fine dust wise, and that's 3 front intake, and 3 bottom intake 😂

In fact, I never liked the idea of putting the PC on the table where I do stuffs with the PC. :x

My budget is 600-700 dollars

Resolution is 1080p 180hz or 1440p 180hz?

This really is 'as low as I would go' for a modern gaming system. Your budget is limited.

Obviously one can find cheaper components but definitely at the cost of performance.

The front case panel acts as a dust filter, at least according to Montech's website.

'real' dust filters cost extra.

a 9060 XT 16GB is the best GPU you can get for your money within your budget.

Its almost as fast as a 5060 Ti 16GB at 70 dollars less.

Here is an 18 game average at 1440p, all games were played on very high or ultra.

Whats the monitor and its resolution?

What games are you playing?

if you are serious about training ai youll be looking at a used 3090 and nothing less due to vram or maybe a secondary card like a 3060 or tsla p40/100

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9Pfwnp

5600 + 3090 + 32gb 3600c18

800$ ish should be within reach of building something like this if you wanna do ai shenanigans but keep in mind the used parts (all with changed prices + case)

so the monitor is 1440p, I think I have settled on 30 series card and maybe doing a dual gpu setup for ai, games doesn't really matter for me because the 30 series can probably handle most games fine. (also the ps5 can run games just fine)
