which GPU to get. I have a tomahawk b550 motherboard AMD 4 5600 CPU. I'm looking at the rx 7600 xt or Rx 9060 xt 16 GB. Due to the motherboard only have x8 lanes for the pci slot I'll lose half the performance with 9060 or dose it not matter since I don't play competitively and only at 60 FPS.

Where are you seeing that you only have x8 lanes on that motherboard? The top slot is PCIe 4.0 x16 and wired directly to the CPU, per the details on the spec page.

The secondary full PCIe slot is only Gen 3 and x4 electrically.

But even if you only had 8 lanes, it doesn't really matter. The RX 9060 XT 16GB will always be faster than the RX 7600 XT - it's just that it can be even more faster if you had each one in a x16 slot, because the 9060XT could actually use it, whereas the 7600XT never can. With both limited to x8, the 9060XT will still win easily.

PCIe bandwidth is only a small factor in overall performance, and really only becomes significant if you run out of VRAM. Otherwise, going down a generation or losing half the lanes generally only results in a small performance reduction.

You should have 16x Gen4 lanes on a B550, unless you have to bifurcate to 2 slots, which is rare (dual GPU for example..)

Anyway even with 8 you won't lose anything with either card, they don't saturate 8x Gen4

And I'd get a 9060XT, they're quite faster for not much more money vs 7600XT

Lose half the bandwidth. Yes
Actual performance you'll only lose 1%-5%

the 9060 xt is a faster gpu than the 7600 xt, and with the 9060 xt you will have access to the new AMD features.
