May I test it in open bench?

Hi friends.

Seems like I will wait a while for a gpu holder.

May I test RTX 3080 Aorus Xtreme (4 slot card) on open bench with only pci-e slot to hold it without risk of breaking anything?

I just want to test it for like max half an hour.

 

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with,and even if you think I'm rude or not polite,forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

If it's just standing vertically in a slot, no problem.

 

If it's vertical in a case, attach the IO bracket to the case with screws. Then use something made out of non-conductive plastic to support the card.

Motherboard is on its box.Just install the card vertically with only pci-e slot from MoBo to hold it.

Would it damage somerhing?

Just for like half an hour.

It is 4 slot card, might rip off something or I am overthinking.

If you're that worried about it, wait until you have your motherboard installed in the case. Then lay the case on its side and install the GPU with screws and a support.

I don't have anymore spare chasis for it that is the problem.I can swap it rig with a AMD card but don't want to mess with it because that rig is working okay.

Just make sure the card isn't putting pressure on the slot and you should be fine. So you will want to have the motherboard parallel to the ground so gravity pulls the card into the board and doesn't put pressure down on the slot. 

Testing my card outside my machine with a riser cable myself now.

As long as it's in a test bench and the motherboard is lying flat, it should be okay. Slowly let go of the GPU once it's in the slot.

Thx guys.Luckly gpu holders came to my supplier.I will get them tomorrow and then hopefully I will install the Aorus Xtreme RTX 3080 with GPU holder.

They are here very expensive, 20 euros each.
