Hello everyone! I need some advice...
I was an Apple user for a long time, from the 3GS to the 7 Plus. Then, I switched to the OnePlus 7T because I found the tech offered by Android phones to be more appealing.

By the way, I loved the 7T and it is still in my family.
After several years, I upgraded to the OnePlus 10 Pro, and it works great, but... Android and some apps have really bad optimization...

A friend is selling me his iPhone 14 (base one), and I've been using it for a week, and I like it. I have a MacBook Pro M1, an iPad Air M1, AirPods Pro2, and I love the environment and how all complement nicely.

With the usage of the iPhone now, I have created the necessity to upgrade my OP 10 Pro, even if it's not for the iPhone 14 and just found a good price for the OnePlus 13 even I thought on buying the iPhone 16 ( base model ) but I'm not sure what should I do.

The other day I turned on the OP10 because I needed some documents I had there and as soon as it turned on I saw the big screen, the brightness, and I fell in love again with it xD.

Please help me! I need some advice so I can make the right choice. I know in the end it will be a personal decision, but I would love to read the community's opinion about both platforms.

Sorry about my English, I know it's not perfect, but I'm trying xD.

Welcome to the forums!
Your english is great!
If you're already going Apple for everything else and don't mind iOS, ABSOLUTELY go for the iPhone. They're just better devices than ~anything you can get on the Android side of the fence, especially in longevity.
If you really feel the need for a big screen (I know I love them) you could get the 16Plus which is the same 6.7" as the OP10Pro, or even go ProMax which has a 6.9" screen.
And this is coming from someone who *loathes* Apple

I used to bounce back and forth between android and apple phones just to maintain a better knowledge of both environments. However... ever since I switched from my last phone (OnePlus 7T) to the iPhone 12, I've accumulated both an old apple watch as well as a M1 macbook. The synergy between the apple devices is outstanding (as you would hope it would be lol). While I'm not a fan of the "walled garden", the security and privacy advantages of the apple products out of the box is unmatched, only bested by someone who jailbrakes an android phone and installs some custom ROMs. I think there's something to be said that I haven't even considered upgrading my phone yet even though it's now pushing 5 years old, yet when I was running androids I was upgrading once every 2-3 years or so.

I did love the OnePlus phones (I've had multiple of them), the entire reason they kicked off so strongly is their motto "never settle", as it rang true to what I feel most tech companies should strive to do; continuous upgrades/enhancements, while there's an argument in there to say "well why do you like apple if they never stray from the norm / the phone is the same thing as the last 10 models etc" - they just work. The other disappointing factor to eventually straying away from OnePlus, is their phones used to be considered "flagship killers" as they had the latest and greatest features baked into a phone for a fraction of the cost of what Samsung/Apple were charging for. This has since gone to the wayside.

There's definitely more customization options out there for android, but at the end of the day you're either giving Google your data or much less data to advertisers through Apple. And as someone who has "de-google-fied" as much as I feasibly can for now, the choice is fairly easy as to what I'll be getting next.

As someone who's used both the OnePlus 13 and the latest iPhones, I'd say look at the iPhone 16.

The OP13 is great. Fast, phenomenal battery life, excellent display, and cameras that don't match Apple's best but are still consistently good. It even gets MagSafe charging (really, Qi2) if you buy the right case. I wouldn't fault you at all for buying one.

However, you're also deep into the Apple ecosystem... and if you intend to stay there, then an iPhone will just make your life easier. I'd pick the 16 over the 14 if possible as it has major leaps in performance and camera tech.

Does it have the magnets? Or just normal wireless charging and you need a magsafe case?

The case includes the MagSafe/Qi2 ring — unfortunately it's just plain wireless charging when you're caseless. That seems to be the trend for Android vendors this year (Samsung is going the same route, and Google likely will too with the Pixel 10), so it might be a while before it's fully built into devices beyond iPhones.

Well, I always case my phone anyways, and with a Peak Everyday caase plus an OhSnap pop socket, I get WICKED good adhesion to pretty much any metal surface. To the point that I've placed non-charging landing spots all over my house.

In that case it's really just a question of what you prioritize. The iPhones have the ecosystem, but it was nice to use the OP13 knowing it could last through a long day of heavy use.
