Hi, New to the forum so im hoping ive put this in the correct place, Ive been doing some reasearch recently about using my iMac that i have recently been given by a family member as a monitor for my windows pc. As far as im aware there is not easy way to do it by plugging in cables directly from one device to another, and looking at hardware alterations looks really tough. I have been seing a lot about the Luna display adaptors and was wondering if anyone has any experiance with them or knows another alternative method as I would hate to see such a nice display go to waste.

Thanks a lot.

Welcome to the forums!
Sadly your Mac is just one generation too new for Mac Target Display.

If the Mac still works, you could do a janky workaround where you host some remote desktop software and a dummy monitor dongle on the PC, then have the Mac stream that "monitor".
There has never been a satisfactory explanation from Apple about why they killed the Target Display feature

Thanks for your help,

https://shop.astropad.com/products/luna-display?variant=39590375358596  Been looking at one of these to see if its works so might give it a try then, such a shame target mode isnt available on the iMac i have but seems like a decent work around ?
