Any thoughts about Torrent vs Define 7 cases for max silence at idle?

I like Torrent, but Define has some sound dampening, I wonder if it makes much difference. Especially for coil whine, HDDs.

I have the Fractal Torrent and with low fan speeds its basically silent while still providing great airflow during gaming.

I personally suffer from聽misophonia and hyperacusis so noise levels is the most important factor to me.

I give this case a 9.4/10 for noise levels with adjusted fan curves.

I can't hear my Torrent while gaming at 4K, let alone idle. All in your fan setup and tuning.

Dampening mostly helps with lower frequencies from fans, not high pitch like coil whine.

Isnt it the opposite, higher frequencies are easier to absorb due to shorter wave length and so dampening is usefull in this case.

Either way, my personal experiance is the noise im distrubed by the most is the iregular coilwhine, clicking from hdd and fan bearings, air flow noise doesnt bother me as much. So i chose to go with a define 7 which i have been very pleased with and made a big difference compared to other cases ive used (meshify c, p500, hafx etc). Ofc chosing the right fans and setting fans curves is a big part of it too

I think the damping is a gimmick. I have an R4 with damping, just makes the case heavier.
