Hey all!

Right now I'm in the market for my endgame keyboard. What I mean by that is:

  • Ridiculously well built - all metal construction preferably
  • Highly aesthetic - subjective, I know, but some keyboards have a bit more ~aura~ than others
  • Feels great to type on - I'm a big fan of tactile switches and good ergonomics
  • Large - 80% or greater
  • Under $5,000 USD
  • Is not a DIY project - I unfortunately do not have time for that right now, as fun as it would be to do

I've looked at a few, namely the Serene Industries Icebreaker, the Geistmaschine Geist, and the Norbauer Seneca, but I want to make sure I really consider the universe of high-end keyboards that exist before making a decision.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

At that budget I would further look at the stuff from Angry Miao (Neon 80) and Mode Design. They come in far below budget, as well (never thought I'd say that).

But realistically, if "feels great to type on" is really important to you, I would recommend figuring out what that means for you first. For a lot of people this is quite different. And looking at the keyboards you linked, none of them seem overly ergonomic and more design focused.
