My friend's brand new build has been completely unable to post. The only signs of life that it displays are the lights on the ARGB fans. After the power button is pressed or the pins are shorted, nothing happens. The PSU fan doesn't even spin. We did many tests, removing more and more components until the final test with only MOBO + CPU also resulted in nothing. We have tested the PSU in another System, and it worked normally. Lastly, he was overdue for a PSU upgrade anyways, so he ordered a new one that we will use to test as soon as it arrives. I will keep this post updated with the results of that.

He has a:

  • Ryzen 5 5500;
  • Asus Prime A520M-A II;
  • Radeon RX 6600;
  • 16GB XPG DDR4 Ram;
  • Corsair CX430 PSU;
  • Generic Chinese Case and generic Chinese fans.

So, before the PSU arrives, there's something you could try.

The motherboard has BIOS flash features, which means you could try flashing newer/newest BIOS on the motherboard.

Here's link to official link corresponding with the motherboard's model you mentioned:

I just found out about the Carefree bios feature. How interesting!

The motherboard was manufactured in February of this year, however, which leads me to believe the Bios is already up to date (?)

At any rate, we will give it a try.

EDIT: Apparently, the Carefree bios thing needs the computer to POST in order to work. So we couldn't pull it off.

Tried single RAM stick instead of two?
