Noctua is going pump-free. Their prototype Thermosiphon cooler uses boiling coolant and physics to deliver liquid cooling with zero moving parts, and it might finally be ready for prime time. Linus takes a deep dive into how it works, why it’s been so hard to get right, and what’s changed this time around. Plus, a look at Noctua’s first AIO cooler, upgraded fans, and all the wild third-party collabs they brought to Computex.

Don't forget that Silentflux brought more or less this to market back in 2007. Though I think they used a different liquid and they called it 'bubble pump'.

I've even once seen one in the wild in an old office PC. The thing was running fanless, though the PSU fan was sucking warm air out of the case right above it. This is from back when the PSU fan was considered an active part of the PC cooling concept and additional case fans were very optional.

Saw some vids about it, I wonder where this is really different from normal aircooling with heat pipes?

Its still pretty neat. Also as I said in another thread, it is nice to see Noctua doing something different, instead of the same boring conversation that has been going on for the last 10-15 years.
