While figuring out my truenas nas, with static ips, ddns, cg nat, subnet masks etc,  the thing i realised that i know a lot of stuff for a non it guy. but i absolutely do not know anything about network stuff at all.

Like i know how to check my ip, and what dns server to use, like google and cloud flare. But that's all. I know nothing else at all. And this is bugging me.

How do I learn these things? A youtube video series for absolute dummies like me? Even searching on YouTube, I got confused on what exactly I'm looking for.

Need some help please.

[ Moved to Networking ]

TCP/IP v4 has been around for over 40 years, so there's plenty of information out there. Some of it is relevant, a lot of it is outdated, and tons of it is much higher level than you'll need. (Don't worry about VLAN tagging or anything fancy like that until you understand the fundamentals.)

Start with introductory videos from channels like Level1Techs.

The classic For Dummies book series also has very approachable books about IPv4. If you're shopping for used (or library) books, get something from the mid-2000s at the oldest. That's new enough to avoid most of the stuff that's no longer relevant.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Professor Messer's CompTIA Network+ videos are outstanding. All videos are available completely for free on YouTube:

While the goal of these videos intention are to prep you for the Network+ exam, they will give you soup to nuts understanding of network infrastructure.

Hey, if you have an extra $350 at the end, you can get a nice certification to put on your resume.
