Well techyescity thinks he found a fix but I didn't follow up if that really fixed it...

Also don't buy ASRock mobo then, and not that CPU either, I mean doesn't AMD have like a gazillion models, choose one without *known* issues?

Just now, WereCat said:

I haven't heard of any case ever Asrock board wasn't involved

If I recall there were such cases but they (at least the majority of them) were user error or external problems

Mushing the CPU, letting thermal compound leaking to the pins, PSU issues etc etc

The only known mobo specifically issues were with higher end Asrock board tho (from what I've seen) and rarely with lower end (to the same degree with other mobo issues from other brands)

What if YOU were cake all along?

So this cheap asrock wont hurt the 9800x3d?

ASRock > B650M-HDV/M.2

Or... Just to be safe... Don't buy an AsRock board? Do you consider whatever extra another brand with similar features would cost, a good enough peace of mind to know you won't fry your CPU?

I've gotten to know some stuff, but am far from omniscient, so don't take my advice as gospel and wait for other opinions - I just like throwing in my two cents when I can.

they say dont buy a 9800X3D cause it will die. But, its only 100 cases and MOST of it are on ASROCK mobos.

Go for 9800x3d but no asrock mobo or just dont go for any 9800x3d?

I got a 9800X3D and its overclocked from 5.2Ghz stock to 5.6Ghz.

Its on an ASUS motherboard though.

I am not worried at all.

Wouldnt get it cuz that boards just low end and doesnt have guaranteed 9th gen support out of the box.

anywy if you are worried just dont get asrock?

Heaps were indeed user error and a bad pbo profile related both which seem solved?

I've heard about this and as far as I remember the consensus is that it's user error, and I've noticed the comments in this thread say don't buy an Asrock mobo for a 9800X3D. I've heard that there's very, very few reports that this actually happens, so it's unlikely to be a manufacturing or systemic issue.

No, we said OP shouldnt buy one if they are so worried over this previous scandal/issue

Buying an ASRock motherboard doesn't automatically mean a failure because some have happened before

LOL....why is it a "scandal"?

It is nothing more than new tech being released before being submitted to what would amount to outrageous testing for every possible configuration. Exact same as Intel's 13th-14th gen issues.

People are always frothing at the mouth to have the latest and greatest tech so they can brag about frames rates, so these companies are encouraged to rush shit out as fast as possible with minimal testing.

"Hey, We'll just use our customer base as the beta testers and over a couple years we'll have compiled enough info that we can "fix" the issues we missed."

THAT is the true "scandal" in the industry and sadly it's fueled by the consumer.

Curious though that if it's an Intel cpu frying, it's the fault of the evil corporation doing nefarious deeds, BUT if it's an AMD cpu frying in the exact same manner for the same reasons, well that's the end users fault and not anything to do with AMD.🤔

To TL DR it for you

English ain't my first language

I know the word, double looked at the definition (an action or event that is legally or morally regraded and causes outrages) and found it fitting

If you didn't the all power to ya me friend but to me it made sense and it fit the description of the situation

Oh and Intel issues with the 13th and 14th gen were AFTER a while from when they released so it boils down to "bad bunch" or as we say where I'm from (translated) "a bad bakers dozen"
