AMD Ryzen 9 9950X or 9950X3D

When I first built my PC, I picked out the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X because I wanted a do-everything computer (gaming but also video editing and 3D modeling/rendering) that would fit in my $2,000 budget. However, I am starting to think if I should swap it out for a 9950X3D

From what I found researching, generally X3D is more of a exclusively gaming thing as it has extra cache for extra fps in games, and games only. Meanwhile, X has a high clock speed which makes it more versatile in doing other computer things other than gaming.

Is this verifiably true? Does this apply to 9950s?

Since I am not necessarily aiming for gaming only, am I better off with a X instead of a X3D anyways or should I swap it out before the 30 day refund deadline passes?

The 9950x and 9950x3D are within margin of error of each other in terms of scores in various software

TL DR you just got a 9950x that is somewhat better at gaming that the norma one due to extra cache

Simply because gaming is a thing you wanna do also, I'd pick the X3D anyday.

And about clockspeeds; 9950X and 9950X3D has same base and boost clocks, though sure, maybe the non-X3D clocks higher more easily, don't know about that.
