So I was moving some data yesterday in my explorer and found a "Linux" tab under the This PC category, I have never noticed it before. It doesn't let me pull up the properties window and there is no data in the tab. I have no dual boot system or linux installed on another drive. Could it be a virus or is this something normal? image.png.093ee6a1811cd8546c22508f73c597d6.png

That's normal. It shows up because of the implementation of windows subsystem for Linux in recent windows updates etc.

Yeah it's normal however i was sure you only need to activate this by going optional features GUI and tick box there then windows update will then install subsystem. So i can understand the worries.

If you want it gone, find the optional feature program and untick the linux-subsystem. And the windows update will remove it for you.

I'm jank tinkerer if it works then it works.

Regardless of compatibility 🐧🖖

I have had the option show up with no action on my part in at least two of my Systems.
