Budget (including currency): 4k

Country: US

Games, programs, or workloads that will be used: Star Citizen, Doom Dark Ages, Cyberpunk, and Ghost of Tsushima

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Parts LIST: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Ishikudeska/saved/#view=YttGxr

Peripherals (already owned): G915TKL, G502 Hero, and G935

Monitors are included in the parts list.

Some of the parts are picked for the *aesthetic*. This isn't a "brand new to PC building first time"; this is just a complete system upgrade, as I want to give my current setup to my parents.

(current setup specs just because):

32 GB DDR4 2667 MHz

2x 1080p 120Hz refresh rate

Ryzen 7 3700X

1TB NVME M.2 SSD

1TB HDD

3060 12gb

if you can I would get the 4080 or 5070 ti over the 4070ti, and for ram speeds of 6000Mhz and a cl of 30 or 32 is the sweet spot for ram with amd.

Any particular reason you need the 9950X3D over the 9800X3D?

The 9800X3D is just as fast in gaming but cheaper, you could upgrade the GPU a little with the extra money.

Also, 64GB of RAM is incredibly overkill an 32GB is still plenty enough, the sweetspot is also 6000Mhz CL30.

Ah yeah, forgot to mention I'll be going to tech school for network admin/IT and need to be able to remote into my home PC while in class/labs

Maybe not a need, but a want. This isn't so much a "I need 64gb of ram and a 9950X3D", but I am trying to future proof that kind of stuff a little bit.

I might not have gotten everything included that you wanted but what about something like this?

You mention gaming and the 5080 absolutely demolishes the 4070 you picked out.

I have said my opinion.  You do you.

I would pick a 9800X3D and a 5080 over a 9950X3D and a 5070 any day for the games you mention.

$4k with just a 5070?????

with that money he could get a 5080 no problem, maybe even a 5090 FE

as for the cpu your best bet is the 9800x3d.

5070 ti, and if this is for moving out saving money will be helpful.

That is a VERY slow HDD. For the same price you can get a 14TB refurb 7200RPM drive
Also, you're dropping three grand on a PC for single player games and only running 1080p monitors?

true, but the 5070ti def isnt the best thing at its price point

9070xt can be had for that price and while its not a star citizen (pun absolutely intended) at rt, it is gonna beat the 5070ti most of the time

if were trying to stay nvidia, 3090 is the next best card and while not as fast, it has much more vram which would work out in the long run. + its cheaper

9800x3d + 5070ti + 64gb 6000c30

Cost optimizations and general optimizations

consolidated the storage, theres 4 m.2 on this board so you can add more down the line

best gpu that makes sense in this build would be a used 4090 so if you can find one of those go grab one instead of a 5070ti

now go and spend the rest of the budget on a good oled monitor/tv cause the gpu dont matter with a garbage monitor
