putting computer into secure boot to download windows 11

Hello all!

I'm trying to help my buddy upgrade to windows 11, everything hardware wise is good for the update but the computer isn't in secure boot. so i go through the motions, F2 on load up, Disable the CSM, then enable secure boot. but when im finished and click save and exit. all it does is boot up to the same screen where i enable secure boot. can someone help me understand why it doesnt boot back up to the loading screen?

That happens when it can't boot from the disk. There are differences with using secure boot and you can't just turn it on with windows.
