I am having trouble finding a suitable air cooler for my first build, it will have a Ryzen 5 9600x AM5, and a 3060 Ti.

Budget ?

That thing shouldn't be hard to cool since it's 65w tdp, asking budget just so people can choose the best for your budget, for future upgrade use sake at least.

If you're broke a $20ish TR Assassin 120 will be enough, if you can spare $40 get a TR PA120 or PS120

65W CPU, the cooling requirements for that will be minimal. Go with whatever you like (look, brand, etc), I would only make sure the heat sink supports AM4/5 (same hole dimensions for both sockets). You could get away with a single tower air cooler, but if your interested in pushing that CPU, a dual tower will allow for additional wiggle room.

Honestly I wouldn't really want to go over about $60, but if needed to prevent bottlenecking I would go over, but it looks like I won't need to due to

Both will easily cool that 65w CPU 🙂

I ran a 7700x with a similar style cooler with only 30% fan speed and it was plenty enough.

I currently run a overclocked 9800X3D with a 120mm dual tower, the DeepCool AK620! Its only at 30% constant fan speed and its also plenty enough.

My 9800X3D draws around 90-120w during gaming.

I would recommend updating the BIOS on your motherboard and to enable the 105w option for the 9600x in the BIOS, you can see up to a 15% increase in performance.

And yes, both the Hyper 620s and Peerless Assassin 120 SE will easily cool that CPU at 105w as well.

You will rarely see that power draw during gaming, I would estimate around 80w on average.

Ok bro is actually ballin... a 9800X3D is insane! What GPU do you have it paired with?

I was also recommended this in the cooling section of the forum (keep in mind price is not really a worry and RGB/ Display is cool):

https://www.newegg.com/p/13C-000Y-000N0

That will perform identical to the standard Peerless Assassin SE120.

I do like a digital display on a CPU cooler, my AK620 is the Digital version too.

Here is mine.

Thanks!  I want to move the GPU power cable under the GPU, it looks a bit weird as it is... But overall I am happy with it 🙂

I like a nice dark 'stealth' build.  I run with a lot less brightness on the RGB of course.

What games do you run

All of them 😄

But right now its mainly Hell Let Loose as a competitive tank driver.

But I play Forza Horizon 5, EA Sports WRC, Assetto Corsa/Evo.. You see my wheel base in the 1st picture at the back there, I have a simrig.

Just bought Roadcraft and JDM: Japanese Drift Master today.

I also like Metro Exodus, STALKER 2, Red Dead Redemption 2 and similar games.

The Last Of Us is my favorite game.

Dave The Diver is cool.

So yeah, I'm just a straight through gamer that enjoy many games 🙂

It won't go over $60 as long you're not into vanity stuffs.

But yeah, peoples above suggested nicely already. Thermalright one will do fine.
As for whether you want the display or not, that's up to you. If you barely look at your PC case when using the PC, just save some money and buy the non display, use the money for something else you might need.

Take note that display usually means you will need to install a proprietary software that needs to run all the time.

And if you really need to see CPU, GPU temp, you can just use afterburner and on-screen display.

I think I will save the money, maybe CL30 ram instead of CL36 would be a better upgrade

The difference is not that much between CL30 and CL36 either, maybe 1-2% if you are lucky.

Get a Peerless Assassin SE 120 or the Cooler Master one you linked 🙂 They will do you well.

Save some money, buy some games for your new rig.
