Xbox series S wireless controller issues. Same issue with 4 previously working controllers.

Been having issues with my sons Xbox series S. All of a sudden when i try to turn it on with the controller the light on the controller blinks rapidly. It's also making a very faint clicking noise. Same thing happens with the other 3 controllers in the house that were previously working fine. If I connect them with a usb C they work fine but otherwise nothing is happening. And after spending the last hour trawling reddit and youtube if anyone tells me to swap the batteries I swear to god...

What have you tried so far? If all the controllers are effected it might be an issue with the console?

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticably improve performance past 240mm.

Power cycling, leaving everything disconnected from power with no batteries, console unplugged... all the usual suspects.

Factory reset?

Does it only make that noise when a controller is trying to connect? If so, I'd say that's a console hardware error

So, I'm guessing that you've already tried with new batteries, and if that's the case, have you tried updating the firmware on the controller (this can be done through the xbox accessories app on the console and should work with the controller connected via USB) or resetting the controller (holding down the xbox and menu (the button below and to the right of the xbox button) for 5-10 seconds), although it could be as simple as repairing the controller with the console.

Yeah it makes the noise everytime the light on the xbox button blinks while I am holding it down, it's almost like a wierd chirping noise.

Yeah new batteries, firmware update all that jazz. Like I said its happening with every controller in the house now. so I think its a problem with the xbox itself at this point. Luckily i can still use them wired, but it's a pain in the ass for sure.

Yeah, gonna double down on hardware error. That clicking is likely a bad capacitor in the radio system. Kinda wild, but when you sell enough units you get edge case hardware failures.
Even if it's out of warranty, they might replace it just to get their engineers to look at it. If it is in warranty, RMA
