All seems allright but now card doesn't give me black screen but thermal throttles all the way down to 210 mhz and very low fps.

Changing pads can change the quality of the thermal contacts depending on pads thickness.

What you describe isn't normal either way.

I bet before you had bad thermal contact between Heatsink and VRam. Now between heatsink and main chip.

(Undervolting would help)(I've got a dual fan 3070 in a suboptimal case and it's doing fine)

Long story short - gpu was pretty hot and giving me black screen + freeze.

So I repasted with mx-4 and changed thermal pads as well. All seems allright but now card doesn't give me black screen but thermal throttles all the way down to 210 mhz and very low fps.

how its goin mate ? hope my post helps. Maybe drop a like or follow ? >w<

no ? i guessed that 😄

I'm willing to swim against the current.

Sounds like it would have been an easy RMA case, probably not an option anymore if you modded it though.

Hah you are partly right ! it was caused by cooler not hittin the chip very well but not cause thickness diffrence but im dumb so forgot to peel thin plastic over it. Now it doesnt throttle by instant.  Sure it hits 80 or so at 2 minute mark but it doesnt throttle.  Fps normal. Now i will check if i encounter any black screen !
