Hello all. Before I take my GPU back, I wanted to see if I can get some advice on why im having so much trouble with my pc.

When I play a heavy game like Cod: Mw3, I crash a few times a night, but its the only game to crash right now. The screen will freeze in place, but audio would still continue in intervals. Sometimes an error will pop up, most time it wont.

My build is currently:

ASRock Z790-C

i7 14700KF (not oc)

5070 Ti (currently oc)

16GB DDR5 4800mhz native, oc to 5000mhz RAM (newer sticks were 32GB DDR5, 6000mhz native, but swapped those off)

2 TB SSD

1200w PSU

I tried grabbing the crash logs from MW3 which states:

"[887a0005]: The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action.
hrRemovedReason [00000000]: The operation completed successfully.
GPU desc: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
Driver version: 576.40
WARNING: Memory allocation changed and was not yet taken in account"        AND      "gfxresult::gpu_watchdog_tdr: gpu tdr watchdog error"

While I do understand 4k is a little demanding, I have a 4k monitor, running 244hz.

The things Ive tried so far:

Upgrading my PSU, but Mw3 wont open at all if its on High Power performance or balanced but will in energy saver.

I changed my GPU power performance to maximum

Lowering resolutions, lowering to 60hz

OC RAM, switching back to native speeds, switching ports as well, turning on and off XMP

Turned off overlays

Uninstalling all drivers and reinstalling

**The GPU is currently OC in the NVIDIA app because MSI Afterburner doesnt prioritize for some reason. In game, clock speed is 3k, wattage is 200, temperature is 54c, voltage is 1.02-1.03, vram clock is 15201mhz, utilization is always between 94%-99%, cpu is 35%-55%.**

Reinstalling Mw3

Every other game, I have fps issues when moving my mouse around so I lower the in game resolutions to 1920x1080 and my current res is 3840x2160

Then I tested the 4k monitor on a 5700 XT, no problems for many days.

I have 6 days left to return or replace the GPU. I thought upgraded to a 5080, but not worth an extra $700 for an extra few hundred base clock speed.

Im not sure what else I can possibly do. Im still fairly new at pcs, but i replaced everything myself. I definitely thought my PSU was the problem but as I said above, my pc cant start Mw3 while in high power.

one more thing you can try is pci4.0 instead of 5.0 for the gpu in the bios

the newer nvidia drivers still have problems, the black screens still happen and if that happens during warzone, or if warzone somehow triggers it, you get the picture

if warzone's actually the only game to crash i probably wouldn't return the gpu, but that's ur call.

I can try pci 4.0, but i dont get blackscreens. its not warzone specifically, but mw3 and black ops as a whole. i deff check it out in my bois though, thank you
